WHAT'S NEW AT PRIME URGENT CARE

Mild Respiratory Problems Can Be Treated at a Pearland Urgent Care Center

Respiratory problems can be extremely frightening. The feeling of not being able to breathe can cause many individuals to panic, but there is help available. People experiencing mild respiratory problems, such as an asthma attack or difficulty breathing due to an upper respiratory infection, can find relief by visiting our Pearland urgent care center – Prime Urgent Care.

Using an Urgent Care Facility for Mild Respiratory Problems

Our urgent care center should only be used for mild respiratory problems. Mild respiratory problems can include bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma, some allergies, and even COPD.

Patients that are in immediate distress where it is extremely difficult to breathe or it feels as if there is an obstruction in the airways should call 9-1-1. Severe asthma attacks or extreme difficulty breathing can only be treated at an emergency room.

Individuals who are suffering from any of the milder respiratory problems will find our urgent care center faster and cheaper than visiting an emergency room. In fact, in most cases of mild respiratory problems we administer the same type of treatment, just at a lower cost.

Administered Treatment for Mild Respiratory Problems

The type of treatment a patient who visits our Pearland urgent care center will receive will depend upon the reason for their visit. Our doctors typically treat asthma different than bronchitis or allergies.

When visiting our urgent care center, the patient will undergo a brief physical exam. This exam is used to allow us to diagnosis the problem and find the best course of treatment. Our doctors may ask the patient several questions regarding their previous medical history, in addition to the physical exam.

After a physical exam, our doctors will provide a recommended course of treatment. The treatment that is recommended can range from use of antibiotics to other medications.

Some treatments that may be recommended include:

  • Antibiotics
  • Steroid inhalers
  • Nebulizers
  • Breathing treatments

If our doctors believe they are unable to treat a patient’s problem, we will recommend that they visit the nearest emergency room. However, we do everything in our power to try to treat the problem at our Pearland urgent care center.

In the event that a mild respiratory problem occurs, our after hours care center will provide patients with access to trained, experienced medical staff that is able to handle the problem.
